When Laprea Education’s name appeared on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing companies in America, our team felt more than excitement—we felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
This recognition is an honor, but it’s also a reflection of something bigger: the collective work of teachers, administrators, and literacy advocates across the country who share a belief that every child deserves access to high-quality reading instruction.
As Anna, our founder and CEO, shared in her own words on Facebook:

From One Teacher’s Frustration to a National Movement
For 23 years, Anna taught in classrooms where she experienced the highs of helping students crack the reading code and the challenges of trying to find resources that were both engaging and aligned with research.
She knew that the Science of Reading and structured literacy approaches offered clarity, but many teachers were still piecing together mismatched materials, often sacrificing their own time to adapt lessons or hunt for texts that fit.
So she started small: writing and publishing decodable books designed to match instruction exactly, books that provided students with connected text practice and the phonics skills and high-frequency words they were learning in class.
What began as a handful of titles quickly expanded into multiple Developing Decoders collections, each grounded in the Science of Reading and written by educators. Over time, Laprea Education’s offerings grew to include:
- Structured Literacy with E.A.S.E., a complete K–2 foundational reading program that addresses all strands of Scarborough’s Reading Rope
- More than 900 decodable books, including fiction and nonfiction titles, all written to align with phonics instruction
- Classroom tools like the Interactive Word-Building Kit, Map-Its Paddles, and Sound Walls
- Professional learning through webinars, workshops, and the free Science of Reading Academy
